Queen was so happy when Meghan Markle's complex relationship with her father was repair
How Meghan Markle is repairing the relationship between Charles and his sons
Ever since the news was announced that Meghan Markle would be joining the royal family, the world excitedly began to look forward to seeing a very modern-day Princess step into one of the globe's most traditional families.
And now that she’s officially become a royal, fans are waiting eagerly to see what the new Duchess will do. While some of Meghan’s fans have been excited to see how her style transforms from actress to royalty, others are highly anticipating the worthwhile charity work Meghan will do as part of her role within the family.
But it seems that Meghan’s impact within ‘The Firm’ is actually extending far beyond her royal career.
According to reports, the new Duchess of Sussex is also helping to heal the ‘broken bonds’ between Prince Charles and his sons, Prince Harry and Prince William.
There have long been rumours of tension between the Prince of Wales and his sons. According to Charles’ royal biographer, Andrew Morton, the young Princes had a more affectionate relationship with their mother, Princess Diana, before her death in 1999.
And of course, the situation between Charles, Diana and Camilla reportedly did not help endear the boys to their father. It’s been reported that William has even been known to raise his voice frequently to his father, according to theDaily Mail.
However, it appears that Meghan is beginning to make headway in repairing Charles, William and Harry’s relationship. According to a royal source speaking to theDaily Mail, Meghan and Charles have been getting on like a house on fire since she met him almost two years ago.
And allegedly, her respect for him lead to her instructing Harry that he should “appreciate him” and “bond more”.
The source said, “Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm.
“She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”
Reportedly, the respect was utterly mutual. Charles is alleged to have told friends, “She is so intelligent and so nice. She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more.”
It’s also been said that the Duke of Sussex was “visibly moved” by Charles embracing his new wife.
Of Meghan’s influence, the source also said, “There has been a wedding bonus for all the family: a sort of mega-watt warming effect.”
And in fact it’s said that Prince William is also “said to be defrosting under Meghan’s influence”.
Recently, it’s been said that Meghan has also been responsible for helping Harry to open up more, after admitting he has repressed many of his emotions in the past.
Harry himself confessed the negative impact of keeping his emotions locked away since Diana’s passing. Last year, he told Bryony Gordon ofThe Telegraph, “I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well.”
According toCloser, “Harry fell for Meghan partly because she’s so open, and has that American attitude of saying, ‘Let’s talk about our feelings.’ He comes from such a stiff-upper-lip culture, but Meghan helped him open up.”
Meghan’s influence also correlates well with William, Catherine and Harry’s mental health campaign last year, Head’s Together. The campaign saw Princes Harry and William open up about their mother for the first time in 20 years, and the emotional fallout of her tragic death.
And according toCloser, “Meghan encouraged Harry to see that, by speaking publicly about his difficult experience, he would really help others, and how being honest might even be a relief.
